And the Nepal account is still growing!!

Friday evening, around 23.00. Another evening I planned to have an early sleep before I will be 'in the air' for about 24 hours, but then I received this wonderful message: I just received the amount of 500 US Dollars!! (390 Euro) from Voula and her girls from the U.S.A.
Some people may remember Voula, she sponsored my ticket last February and her daughters founded the UCAN (United Children Aid for Nepal).
During 2008 they have already send boxes with clothes and schoolmaterial to Nepal and at the moment they are supporting an American lady, who is building a home in Kathmandu. AND they donated 390 Euro to OUR Nepal account!!

So, at THIS moment the total is 1.302,95 Euro and growing.
Tomorrow I have to make my last round to pass by some people who called me that they want to donate some money. Tomorrow evening I will let you know the total again.

Yesterday I had a lovely afternoon. Louella, beautician in Elounda donated a voucher for a facial for the Tombola. Unfortunately [:)] nobody was the lucky winner of this voucher. At the end of the day Phaedra and Christine suggested that I was the lucky one to go and use it, so I did.
It was a lovely treatment, Louella can not perform miracles with my skin, but she does have magic hands: I felt rested and my skin felt like babyskin!
Today the hairdresser passed by, so I am all 'toned up and tuned up' to face my kiddies soon.

Well, Friends of Nepal, I will work one hour more on my dictionary work, so I will have some pages to send to my 'computerboss' before I go and then my second last night in my own bed, before the journey starts.
Leaving you for this moment with the wish:
Suba Rathri (Nepali for sweet dreams) and ... Peri Betaunlah (see you tomorrow).

Namaste!

Sunday we had a fundraising for the children in Nepal.
It was heartwarming to find out how many people came to support me and the children of Nepal!
We raised an amount of 600 Euro!!!! (and adding!!)
Together with the money, that people donated on my special Nepal account I am now at a total of 808 Euro! I will be 'working' hard to devide this money on several projects.
(913 Euro, and adding!)

The first thing we (Rita2 and I) will do when we are in Kathmandu, is going to buy books, notebooks, pens, pencils, rasers for the villageschool in Debauli. This is the village where Suk -our guide in Royal National Park Chitwan - lives. Last February he bought schoolbags for the kids from your money, this year we will bring the books and other materials.
While visiting Debauli we will check the schooluniforms of the 140 children!! Suk told me they do need them, but we need to see on the spot how many and in which sizes they are needed.

I want to say a big thank you to Phaedra. She went around for items for the tombola and she came back with bags full! Thank you shopowners for your generosity.

Also a big thank you to Mike & Christine (Lotus Eaters). They prepared Nepali food (Dahl Bath) and it tasted the way it I am eating it in Nepal.

Thank you Richard for baking the two delicious applepies. They were sold in no time.
